NSF/ANSI 42
Aesthetic effects: chlorine, chloramine, taste, odour and particulates. The cartridge's activated carbon is certified to this standard.
Every figure on this page comes from an independent laboratory, tested against the protocol named next to it. We list what the cartridge is certified for, what it has been tested for, what is still in testing, and what it does not do.
A certification means an accredited body has tested the product and lists it publicly. A lab test to the same protocol produces the same data without the listing. We say which is which.
Aesthetic effects: chlorine, chloramine, taste, odour and particulates. The cartridge's activated carbon is certified to this standard.
Lead content. Confirms that no part touching the water contains more than 0.25% lead by weighted average. Duryn's wetted parts are glass, 304 steel and silicone.
Health effects: lead, mercury, PFOA/PFOS, VOCs, cysts and other contaminants with a health limit. Tested to the protocol by IAPMO R&T; figures in the table below.
Emerging compounds: pharmaceuticals, hormones, flame retardants, pesticides and microplastics of 0.5 to 1 µm.
The European standard for jug water filters: hardness and chlorine reduction, lead and copper, service life, and that nothing migrates from the materials into the water.
EU and German food-contact rules for the glass, steel and silicone. Confirms the materials are safe to hold water and food.
Nothing matches that search. Try the chemical's abbreviation (PFOA, TCE, THM) or its family name.
Values marked “Not published” can be added in the Theme Editor when verified reports are ready.

All three cartridges share the same carbon block, so the results above apply to each of them . The Softening and Alkaline cartridges add an ion-exchange or mineral stage, and these are the extra parameters the lab measured for them.
| Parameter | Protocol | Softening | Alkaline | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carbonate hardness (limescale) | EN 17093 | Not published | Not applicable | Less scale on kettles and coffee machines |

A carbon-block gravity filter is very good at some things and not designed for others. The honest list:
The laboratory spikes clean water with each contaminant at a defined concentration, usually several times what a utility is allowed to deliver. That “challenge water” runs through a new cartridge in the Duryn One at the normal gravity flow rate, and samples of the filtered water are taken at intervals until the cartridge has passed its rated capacity
Each sample is analysed by the lab's own accredited methods (EPA 200.8 for metals, EPA 533 for PFAS, EPA 524 for VOCs, and so on). The reduction shown in the table is the filtered result against the challenge concentration.
Certifications go one step further: the certifying body audits the factory, pulls product for testing itself, and publishes the listing. We hold NSF/ANSI 42 and 372 certification and are working through EN 17093 and the food-contact package with TÜV. If you want the full reports rather than the summary on this page, ask us and we will send them.
Current certification status, protocols, report references and public listings are maintained in the standards section above.
We publish only what our laboratories measured on our cartridge. Every row on this page has a report behind it. As further test rounds complete, the table grows.
Use the cartridge-specific results and current product page to confirm which performance data applies to Clean, Softening or Alkaline.
The laboratory could not detect the contaminant in the filtered sample. The number is the lab's detection limit, and the reduction is therefore at least the percentage shown.
Yes. The data sheet and the reports are linked at the top of this page, and we will email the full documents on request.
The Duryn One is designed for municipally treated tap water in the EU, UK and North America. It is not designed for well water or water that may be microbiologically unsafe. Your water utility publishes an annual quality report; compare it with the table above to see which results matter for you.
Glass. Stainless steel. Zero plastic pitcher. And a cartridge with the paperwork to match.
Testing was carried out under controlled laboratory conditions on the Duryn One pitcher with a new cartridge. Contaminants were added to the challenge water at the concentrations shown and measured after filtration. Performance in your home depends on your water, the age of the cartridge and how you use the pitcher. Not all contaminants listed will be present in your water. The Duryn One is intended for municipally treated tap water and is not designed for water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality. Where no NSF/ANSI protocol exists for a contaminant, the laboratory's accredited method is stated in the report. Certification listings can be verified on the certifying body's public database.
NSF/ANSI, IAPMO, TÜV and Eurofins are the marks of their respective owners; no certification mark is displayed on this page except where a listing is in force.
