Most asked
How often do I replace the cartridge?
Use the replacement interval printed on your cartridge packaging and in the current product guide. Water quality and usage can shorten service life.
Link
Which cartridge should I choose?
Clean for most municipal tap water: takes out PFAS, lead, chlorine and microplastics and keeps the minerals. Alkaline if your water tastes flat or heavy and you want magnesium and a higher pH. Softener if you have hard water: limescale in the kettle, a film on your tea. The comparison shows them side by side.
Link
What does the Duryn One remove from tap water?
PFAS, lead, arsenic, chlorine, microplastics, VOCs, pesticides and more than 200 contaminants in total, tested by independent laboratories to NSF/ANSI protocols. Every contaminant, the protocol and the measured reduction are on the lab results page.
Link
Is the Duryn One really plastic-free?
See the current product and cartridge material specification for the exact composition of every component that comes into contact with water.
Link
Where do you ship, and what does it cost?
Available destinations, shipping methods, thresholds and prices are shown for your market at checkout.
Link
How do I skip, pause or cancel my Refill Plan?
Open the Refill Plan area in your account to see the controls currently available for your subscription. If you cannot access it, contact support.
LinkGetting started
Unboxing, first fill and the first week.
What's in the box?
The current box contents are listed on the product page. If you need to check a specific production batch, contact our support team.
Link
How do I set it up the first time?
Follow the quick-start card supplied with your pitcher. Setup and cartridge-priming instructions can vary by cartridge version, so use the guide in your box or ask support for the current steps.
Link
How long does a fill take?
Fill time varies with tap-water quality and cartridge age. The current expected flow range is published with the product specifications.
Link
The first pitcher looked cloudy or had black specks. Is that normal?
Yes. Loose carbon dust from a new block comes out in the first fill, which is why we ask you to pour the first pitcher away. If it continues past the second fill, rinse the cartridge again under the tap and write to us.
Link
Can I keep it in the fridge?
Check the current product dimensions against your refrigerator shelf before purchase. Filtered water should be stored covered and refreshed regularly.
Link
Can I pour hot water into it?
Use cold or room-temperature tap water only. Check the current care guide for the permitted temperature range.
Link
How do I set up the cartridge reminder?
Customers who order directly receive cartridge information with their order. If you purchased elsewhere, use the registration page when available or contact support.

Materials, cleaning, glass and the walnut lid.
What is the Duryn One made of?
The current material specification is listed on the product page and packaging for your production batch.
Link
Is the Duryn One really plastic-free?
See the current product and cartridge material specification for the exact composition of every component that comes into contact with water.
Link
Can it go in the dishwasher?
Follow the care guide supplied with the pitcher. Remove the cartridge before cleaning, keep the walnut lid out of the dishwasher, and check the guide for the current dishwasher instructions for the remaining parts.
Link
How do I clean it?
Rinse the glass and funnel weekly. Once a month, wash with warm water and a little unscented soap, then rinse well. Limescale on the glass comes off with diluted white vinegar. Take the cartridge out before you wash anything.
Link
How do I look after the walnut lid?
Keep it dry and out of the dishwasher. Wipe spills, let it air dry, and every few months rub in a drop of food-safe mineral or walnut oil to keep the grain nourished. Wood changes colour slightly with time; that is the point of it.
Link
How much does it hold?
The current total and funnel capacities are listed in the product specifications.
Link
What happens if the glass breaks?
If the pitcher arrives damaged, photograph the product and packaging and contact support. Current replacement-part availability and pricing are shown in the store or provided by support.
Link
Can I buy the lid, funnel or glass separately?
Replacement-part availability changes over time. Check the store or contact support for the current list.
Link
Why is water collecting on the outside of the glass?
Condensation. Cold water in a room-temperature glass will sweat, especially in summer. Set it on the linen coaster or a cloth if it bothers you; it is not a leak.
LinkCartridges
Choosing, replacing, switching and disposing.
Link
How often do I replace the cartridge?
Use the replacement interval printed on your cartridge packaging and in the current product guide. Water quality and usage can shorten service life.
Link
How do I know it is time?
Three ways: the reminder email we send from the day your cartridge ships, the date you wrote on the tube when you fitted it, or the water itself: a slower fill or the chlorine taste creeping back means the block is full. On the Refill Plan the next cartridge simply arrives.
Link
How do I replace the cartridge?
Use the replacement and priming steps printed on the new cartridge packaging. If the cartridge does not seat correctly, contact support.
Link
Can I switch between Clean, Alkaline and Softener?
Yes. All three have the same click-in fit, so you can change at any point. On the Refill Plan, change the cartridge type in your account before the next order ships.
Link
Do I have to prime a new cartridge?
Follow the priming instructions printed on the cartridge packaging before the first use.
Link
What do I do with a used cartridge?
Disposal options depend on your local waste rules and the cartridge version. Check the packaging or contact support for the current route.
Link
Will Duryn cartridges fit other pitchers, or other cartridges fit the Duryn One?
No, in both directions. The click mount is Duryn's own, patented design, and it only works with Duryn cartridges.
Link
Is it dangerous to use a cartridge past 3 months?
It is not dangerous, but it stops doing its job. A full carbon block lets contaminants through, and a cartridge left wet for months can grow bacteria. Change it at 3 months, and if the pitcher has sat unused for more than a week, pour the first fill away.
Link
The water is flowing more slowly than it used to. Why?
Sediment or scale on the surface of the block. Take the cartridge out, rinse it under the tap and refit it. If the flow does not recover, the block is full; replace it. Hard water shortens the life of every carbon cartridge, which is one reason the Softener exists.
Link
How should I store spare cartridges?
Keep spare cartridges sealed in their original packaging, in a cool and dry place away from strong smells, and use them before the date printed on the package.
LinkFiltration and water quality
What comes out, what stays in, and how we know.
Link
What does it not remove?
The Duryn One is intended for treated tap water and is not a substitute for disinfection. See the current lab-results page for tested reductions and stated limitations.
Link
Is it certified?
Current certifications, laboratory protocols, report references and public listings are maintained on the lab-results page.
Link
Can I use it with well water, or abroad with untreated water?
No. The Duryn One is designed for municipally treated tap water in Europe, the UK and North America. Water of unknown quality needs disinfection before any carbon filter.
Link
Does it remove PFAS?
See the lab-results page for the current PFAS test scope, protocol and published figures.
Link
Does it remove microplastics?
See the lab-results page for the current particle-size range, protocol and published reduction figures.
Link
Does it remove chlorine taste?
See the lab-results page for the current chlorine, taste, odour and chloramine claims.
Link
Does it soften water or stop limescale?
The Softener cartridge does; the Clean and Alkaline cartridges leave hardness alone. Softener uses an ion-exchange stage, with no salt, to take out the carbonate hardness that becomes scale in kettles and coffee machines.
Link
Does it make water alkaline?
The Alkaline cartridge is designed to change the mineral profile. See its product page and current lab report for the published pH range.
Link
Is filtered water suitable for babies and formula?
The Duryn One reduces lead, which matters for infants, but filtering is not sterilising. Follow your health authority's advice on preparing formula, including boiling where it is recommended.
Link
Can I see the actual lab reports?
Yes. Summaries are on the lab results page, and we email the full reports on request.
